GAPS Therapy
– Healing From the Inside Out

GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome / Gut and Physiology Syndrome) is a therapeutic program developed by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, a neurologist and clinical nutritionist.
Its foundation is simple yet profoundly transformative:
the gut and the brain are deeply connected, and disturbances in the microbiome can affect not only physical health but also emotions, behaviour, and the way we perceive the world.
When the gut is weakened, the body cannot properly absorb nutrients or effectively eliminate toxins.
This is why the GAPS Protocol focuses on regenerating the digestive system, rebuilding the microbiome, sealing the gut lining, and supporting natural detoxification.
As a result, digestion, sleep, focus, and immunity begin to improve, while the mind becomes calmer and more present.
What the GAPS Protocol Involves
GAPS Therapy consists of two main stages:
1. The Introduction Diet
A six-stage regenerative process that begins with warm broths, soups, egg yolks, healthy fats, and fermented foods.
Each stage introduces new food groups, tailored to the pace at which the body restores balance.
2. The Full GAPS Diet
A stabilisation phase, during which the diet becomes more diverse including raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, fermented dairy, and natural fats.
During this stage, the body gradually rebuilds immunity, metabolism, and emotional stability.
The protocol also includes natural supplements, detox baths, and gentle emotional support to help the body navigate the cleansing process safely.
